Mrs. Betsy

Administrative & Creative Support – Bright Star Early Learning, LLC.

Mrs. Betsy brings heart, dedication, and creativity to Bright Star. As a proud wife and mother of two girls, she treasures her family time and pours the same love and care into the Bright Star community. Though her schedule is full, she always finds a way to lend a helping hand where it's needed most.

In her (rare!) free time, Mrs. Betsy enjoys arts and crafts, painting, and all things Halloween. She's also passionate about supporting others through her nonprofit work, bringing compassion and leadership to every project she touches. Her favorite things include snails, octopuses, elephants, and the beautiful mountains of West Virginia.

Ms. Paige

Early Learning Lead Teacher – Aiken Avenue Campus

Ms. Paige has been part of the Bright Star Early Learning family for nearly three years, bringing warmth, creativity, and dedication to every classroom she enters. Her passion lies in nurturing young minds, and she thrives on building strong connections with the children and families she serves. Known for her kindness and patience, Ms. Paige creates a classroom filled with love, laughter, and learning.

When she's not in the classroom, Ms. Paige enjoys baking sweet treats, spending time with family and friends, and indulging in her favorite meal from Taco Bell. She loves the color green, shopping on Amazon, and sipping on a cold Dr. Pepper.

Ms. Paige is excited to help your little one grow and shine here at Bright Star!

Ms. Ellissa

Teacher Assistant – Aiken Avenue Campus

Ms. Ellissa brings adventure and joy into the classroom. She enjoys spending time with her niece and three nephews, and her love for family shows in the care and patience she brings to each child she teaches. Whether she’s painting, baking cakes, or talking about her favorite chef, Gordon Ramsay, Ms. Ellissa’s creativity shines through.

In her free time, you’ll find her soaking up the summer sun, riding rollercoasters, or dreaming about her next travel destination. She brings energy, laughter, and a warm presence to the Bright Star team.

Ms. Hailey

Teacher's Aide – Aiken Avenue Campus

Ms. Hailey brings enthusiasm and heart to her role at Bright Star. With a deep love for children and a creative spirit, she creates a fun and welcoming environment where every child feels special. Her journey into early childhood education began at Urban Air, where she discovered her passion for working with little ones.

Ms. Hailey’s favorite color is pink, and she enjoys painting in her spare time. She's a proud big sister and a loving pet mom to both a dog and a cat. Her favorite treat? Kit Kats and a refreshing Baja Blast!

She is excited to get to know your family and help your child learn, grow, and shine every day.

Ms. Bri

Preschool Teacher – Oakleigh Road Campus

Ms. Bri brings a nurturing heart and lots of energy to the classroom. She is the proud mom of a teenager and wears her love for family front and center. Her favorite colors are purple and pink, and she’s passionate about making children feel safe, loved, and ready to learn.

With interests ranging from coffee and museums to amusement parks and "Twilight," Ms. Bri connects with children through fun, imagination, and care. She’s excited to help your child thrive in preschool!

Ms. Jess

Preschool Teacher – Oakleigh Road Campus

Ms. Jess is a warm, fun-loving teacher with a heart full of kindness. She is a proud mom to her son Oliver, who is her whole world. Ms. Jess loves spending time with friends, exploring new places, and enjoying good food and laughter.

Whether she’s talking about otters or sharing her love of French fries, she brings joy and humor to the classroom—and a strong commitment to helping each child learn and grow.

Ms. Sherry

Lead Preschool Teacher – Oakleigh Road Campus

Ms. Sherry is a seasoned and passionate educator with over 28 years of experience in teaching. She is the mother of three grown children and a proud grandmother to nine! Her deep love for children shines through in her work, especially with children aged 2 through 5.

From reading and shopping to family time and vacations, Ms. Sherry enjoys life to the fullest. Her calm presence and dedication to helping children grow make her an invaluable part of our team.

Ms. Jayla

Lead Preschool Teacher – Oakleigh Road Campus

Ms. Jayla brings a sense of adventure and fun to the classroom. She is a proud dog mom to Tucker, her golden retriever, and enjoys taking him on new adventures. When she’s not spending time with him, she loves working out, traveling, and sharing laughs with friends.

From Twix to Wing Stop, Ms. Jayla’s favorites reflect her fun-loving nature. She’s excited to be part of your child’s early learning journey.

Ms. Angel Haught

Co-Founder & Owner – Bright Star Early Learning

Mrs. Angel co-founded Bright Star Early Learning alongside Betsy in 2014. Since then, she has worked tirelessly every day to ensure that all children receive high-quality care in a loving and supportive environment. Her commitment to excellence and her passion for early childhood education are at the heart of everything we do at Bright Star.

Angel’s favorite things include disco music, crafting, soaking up the sunshine, and spending time with her family. On weekends, she enjoys dancing with her husband, Matt, and creating memories with the people she loves most.

Her leadership, dedication, and vibrant energy continue to drive Bright Star's growth and success.

Mrs. Trish

Center Cook – Philadelphia Road Campus

Mrs. Trish is the soul of the kitchen at Bright Star’s Rosedale location. A proud retiree of the MDTA, she became our cook when the center first opened—and she’s been a treasured part of our family ever since.

She cooks with love and joy, often dancing and singing in the kitchen while preparing meals for our children. She enjoys trying new recipes, continually seeking ways to make food both enjoyable and nutritious. Her humor, dedication, and signature sarcasm brighten everyone's day—and we truly would be lost without her.

In her spare time, Ms. Trish enjoys reading, shopping on Amazon, and following the sunshine wherever it leads. She adores her daughter, loves her bonus grandkids, and treasures her husband, the love of her life.

Her warmth and personality are integral to everything she serves, and we are fortunate to have her as part of our team.

Ms. Danielle

Infant & Toddler Teacher & Preschool Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Danielle is a dedicated and experienced educator with a heart for children. She has been part of the Bright Star family since 2020, but her experience with children dates back even further—she has been working with kids since 1998. A mother of five and a proud grandmother of six, she brings deep love, patience, and wisdom to her work every day.

Ms. Danielle loves watching children grow, learn new things, and discover the world around them. Her favorite things include spending time with family and friends, dolphins, and dancing.

She is a trusted and joyful part of the Bright Star team, and her passion for teaching shines through in everything she does.

Ms. Katelyn

Preschool Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Katelyn, 21, brings dedication and joy to the BSEL team. Engaged to her best friend, she is full of warmth and excitement for the future. She has been with Bright Star since February 2023 and, after a brief time away, is back and here to stay!

Her favorite things include coffee, baseball, cows (moo!), and spending time with family—especially around the holidays. Children love her kind heart, and families appreciate the connection she builds with each student.

Preschool Teacher & Infant & Toddler Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Tracy brings over 25 years of childcare experience to Bright Star, where she has proudly served for the past year. With a calm, nurturing presence and a deep love for children, she helps create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.

She is the proud mother of two adult daughters and has been happily married for 33 years. In her free time, Ms. Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and hunting for vintage Tupperware treasures at thrift stores—one of her favorite hobbies!

Ms. Madi

Teacher's Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Madi brings creativity, fun, and a love for learning to her classroom. A natural bright blonde with a love for self-expression, she has two ankle tattoos—a penguin and a cat—that kids are always fascinated by and love to paint versions of themselves!

She’s passionate about teaching kids, enjoys swimming, playing board games, and has a flair for music and art. Ms. Madi used to play flute in the marching band and loves all things purple and punk rock. Her favorite things include penguins, strawberries, piercings, dying her hair, and making learning fun and engaging for every child.

Mr. Miller

Infant & Toddler Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Mr. Miller is a vibrant and energetic teacher who has been part of the Bright Star family for almost two years. At 24 years old, he brings a passion for working with children and a classroom environment filled with joy and laughter. He is currently completing his Pre-K certification, continuing his journey to support and inspire young learners.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Mr. Miller loves his family and his students more than anything. In his free time, he enjoys gaming, reading, exploring nature, and diving into mythology, astrology, and tarot. His favorite things include McDonald’s, Coke, wrestling, fast cars, and doomscrolling (just a little!).

Mr. Miller’s blend of fun, creativity, and commitment makes his classroom a place where kids feel safe, seen, and excited to learn.

Mr. Greyson Haught

Teacher's Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Mr. Greyson has been a valued member of the Bright Star team since 2010. With his experience and a strong dedication to early childhood education, he’s currently enrolled in school to earn his teaching certificate and continue expanding his impact in the classroom.

Greyson lives and works alongside his partner, Chrissy, and their service dog, Kuromi, who is also a beloved member of the Bright Star community. His favorite things include Star Wars, Legos, WWE, technology, football, and video games, making him a hit with both kids and coworkers alike.

Ms. Kaley

Teacher's Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Kaley brings kindness, creativity, and a deep love for animals into her classroom. At just 20 years old, she already shows the compassion and responsibility of a seasoned caregiver. She has two cats and lovingly looks after many of the strays in her neighborhood. Her gentle and nurturing nature is part of what makes her exceptional with children.

Kaley’s favorite things include the color green, reading, summer days, nature (especially bugs!), and attending rock concerts. She also enjoys crafting with kids and spending time with her six siblings, who have shaped her caring and outgoing personality.

Children feel safe and seen with Ms. Kaley, and families love the energy and empathy she brings to Bright.

Ms. Lavair (Lala)

Teracher's Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Laurai—affectionately known as Lala—is a bright light at Bright Star! At 23 years old, she brings enthusiasm, warmth, and a playful spirit into the classroom. Known as “everybody’s favorite person,” she’s incredibly kind, loving, and passionate about helping children grow.

Since joining BSEL in 2024, she’s built meaningful connections with children and families alike. Her favorite things include sunflowers, seafood, the color red, traveling, dancing, and, of course, Batman!

Ms. Lala’s joyful energy makes her classroom a place where every child feels welcomed and celebrated.

Ms. Chrissy 

Preschool Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Chrissy brings nearly three years of experience to the Bright Star team and is known for her fun, upbeat personality and love of all things pink! At 25 years old, she’s currently working toward earning her teaching certificate and is excited to continue growing in her career.

Her favorite things include Hello Kitty, McDonald’s, pandas, and her beloved dog, Romi. She’s also a big fan of rock music and brings creativity and energy into every classroom she enters.

We’re thrilled to have Ms. Chrissy as part of our Bright Star family, helping children learn, laugh, and shine every day.

Ms. Emily

Infant & Toddler Teacher– Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Emily has been a part of the Bright Star family for nearly five years, bringing warmth, experience, and a calm, nurturing presence to the infant and toddler classrooms. At 25 years old, she is a proud mom to a one-year-old son, and she brings that same loving care into her teaching each day.

Ms. Emily is a certified infant and toddler teacher, and her favorite things include the color pink, shopping, sunflowers, and soaking up the sun while tanning. Her gentle personality and years of experience make her an excellent role model for both the children and her fellow staff.

Ms. Erin 

Teacher's Assistant– Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Erin brings warmth, creativity, and a love for children into everything she does. At 24 years old, she’s a proud graduate of Kenwood High School and is passionate about helping children learn and grow in a loving, faith-filled environment. She enjoys attending church and spending time with her family.

Her favorite things include reading Harry Potter, all kinds of music, Target runs, and being comfy! Erin also enjoys diamond painting, days at the beach, and collecting rubber ducks (a fun Jeep thing!). Whether she’s singing with the kids or planning engaging classroom activities, her energy and heart make her classroom a special place to be.

Ms. Layana

Classroom Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Layana brings warmth, curiosity, and energy to the classroom. At 22 years old, she is the oldest of five siblings and loves spending time with her little brother. She’s passionate about creating a fun and safe space where children feel valued and excited to learn.

Outside of work, Ms. Layana enjoys baking (especially chocolate chip cookies!), dancing, reading, and trying new foods. She also loves Christmas and discovering new places to explore.

She’s excited to be part of the Bright Star team and to help each child grow and thrive!

Ms. Vermell (Ms. Mel)

Infant & Toddler Teacher & Preschool Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Mel brings over 25 years of experience in early childhood education and is a passionate advocate for children’s well-being and growth. She’s not only a dedicated teacher but also a published author of self-help books and an active advocate in anti-bullying education.

Throughout her career, Ms. Mel has earned multiple certifications, including credentials for infants and toddlers, preschool, and continues to find joy in creating new and exciting ways for children to learn. She’s known for her outgoing personality, strong communication skills, and deep commitment to self-care and mental health.

Her favorite things include watching baseball, relaxing in the rain, planting flowers, taking vacations, creating TikTok videos, and eating butter pecan ice cream. Children love her warmth, energy, and the fun she brings to the classroom every day.

Ms. Edlyn (Ms. E)

Assistant Teacher – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Edlyn is a curious and compassionate educator who brings a deep love for learning into the classroom. At 25 years old, she is a self-described fan of anthropology, sociology, psychology, and philosophy—and she channels her passion for knowledge into nurturing bright little minds.

Elidyn started tutoring while in her second year of college and transitioned to working in early childhood education shortly after graduation. She finds joy in nature, especially near water, and loves hiking, relaxing with candles and incense, and reading books while sipping on her favorite—matcha!

She has four siblings and brings a strong sense of family, patience, and discovery to everything she does at Bright Star.

Ms. Breyonna 

Teacher's Assistant – Philadelphia Road Campus

Ms. Breyonna is full of energy, humor, and heart! At 24 years old, she brings a strong sense of leadership, having served in the Army, and now uses those skills to support young learners each day. She’s proud to be the oldest of six siblings—a role that has taught her patience, responsibility, and how to maintain a sense of humor no matter what.

She’s a proud Gemini (yes, she knows, she gets it), and her favorite season is fall—the crisp air, cozy vibes, and of course, all the pumpkin things. Her favorite color is blue, and her interests include Coraline, rainy days with thunder, video games, the ocean, butterflies, and Gravity Falls.

Breyonna brings a creative and grounded approach to every classroom moment, and her quirky charm makes her a fast favorite with kids and coworkers alike.
